Badges

We are very excited to be able to offer badging as an experimental feature of this MOOC. There are 9 OLDS-MOOC badges in total (including the very shiny Hotshot Trophy badge). As you collect the badges, they will be displayed on your Cloudworks profile. They also support Mozilla Open Badges, so they can also be added to your Mozilla Open Badge Backpack.

To be honest, none of us are very sure what the impact of using badges will be (and this will be one focus of our evaluation) but we have thought carefully about the approach we have used. You can read about and comment on our thinking - and some of the principles and assumptions we have employed – in our blog post MOOC Badging and the Learning Arc.

To read the individual badge criteria and apply for badges, click on the badge images below. You will need to be registered on Cloudworks to apply for badges.
